#REFLECT31 - Day 29

“Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” ― Walt Disney

You are always a student, never a master. You have to keep moving forward. - Conrad Hall

Matt just started his 12th year teaching and I’m in year 17, we’ve learned a lot but the most important thing is to keep learning. It’s the only way to meet the needs of our students. In our home and personal lives, we have a motto taken from the movie Meet the Robinsons and Walt Disney. Keep Moving Forward. Here’s our favorite clip from the movie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmW3H-EXYS0 . What it expresses, is that there are not straight paths to innovation and that’s is about the process of trial and error, we learn as we go (movie was 2007, growth mindset before it was trendy.)

Getting to the end point is different for everyone. Some learners might take a bit longer, some shorter; as long as we are learning something from the setbacks you are moving forward and improving. Learning occurs in the process.

How do you ensure you and your learners keep moving forward? How do you motivate your students to pursue improvement in the midst of setbacks? How do you stay persistent in your personal and professional learning when your plate is full and motivation is low? Share your insights with the community today.

Have a magnificent and creative #MustMakeMon!

Laura and Matt
